Antalya Airport transfer guide: how to reach your hotel

Antalya Airport (AYT) is Türkiye’s busiest holiday airport. In summer hundreds of aircraft land every day, and the moment you walk out of the terminal you ask the same question: how do I get to my hotel?

This guide compares the options honestly — including our own service — and says which one makes sense in which situation.

What are your options?

1. Private transfer (booked in advance)

Your driver meets you with a board showing your name and takes you straight to your hotel entrance. The price is per vehicle, so one passenger or six, you pay the same.

Makes sense for: families and groups, anyone with a lot of luggage, late-night arrivals, first-time visitors to Antalya.

Downside: if you’re travelling alone, the per-person cost stays higher than a shared option.

2. Shuttle (shared transfer)

Several passengers heading to the same area share one vehicle. It’s priced per person, so it’s cheaper if you’re travelling alone or as a couple.

Downside: you wait for the other passengers to gather, and the route stops at several hotels along the way. Arrival at your hotel can take 30–60 minutes longer.

3. HAVAŞ and municipal buses

There are regular services from the airport to Antalya city centre. Very economical, but they drop you in the centre — you then have to get to your hotel separately. Not a practical option for Belek, Side or Alanya.

4. Taxi

Waiting at the terminal exit, no booking required, but the fare runs on the meter — in heavy traffic the final amount becomes unpredictable. Luggage supplements and night tariffs may also apply.

Distance and time: how far is each area?

The Antalya coastline is long. Roughly ordered from nearest to furthest from the airport:

• Lara and Kundu — the closest hotel districts
• Antalya centre — a short hop
• Belek and Boğazkent — mid-range, with good motorway access
• Side, Kızılağaç, Kızılot — medium to long
• Okurcalar, Avsallar, Türkler, Konaklı — long
• Alanya, Kestel, Mahmutlar — the far end of the coast road
• Kemer, Çamyuva, Tekirova — westward, via the mountain road
• Kaş, Kalkan and Pamukkale — long journeys that can take most of a day

What to check when booking

Always give your flight number. A serious operator tracks your flight and waits if you’re delayed. A service that doesn’t ask for your flight number may well leave you stranded when your plane is late.

Ask whether the price is per person or per vehicle. “€15 per person” looks cheap at first glance, but for a family of four the total can exceed a private transfer.

Be clear on what’s included. Fuel, tolls, parking, luggage and the name board? Is there a night surcharge? These are the line items that appear later.

Read the cancellation terms. Plans change. Choose an operator with a free cancellation window.

Arrange your return transfer at the same time. Finding a car through hotel reception on departure day is both more expensive and more stressful.

Child seats, extra luggage and special requests

If you’re travelling with children, request a child seat when you book and note the child’s age so the right seat is prepared. For bulky items such as bicycles, golf bags or surfboards, tell us in advance — they don’t count as standard luggage and may require a larger vehicle.

In short

Travelling alone on a tight budget? A shuttle makes sense. Travelling as a family or group, carrying a lot of luggage, or landing late at night? A private transfer is more comfortable and often works out cheaper per person.

Whichever you choose, book in advance. Haggling at the airport exit is the worst possible start to a holiday.
